Pumpkin Math

This week we met our new student teacher, Ms. James! She will be joining us for about a month starting Nov. 12! The students were very excited to meet her! Ms. James got to help us during pumpkin math!

During pumpkin math we begun with sorting our pumpkins from shortest to tallest, which led to a lot of discussion about whether we look at stem, or what to do when the pumpkin is not even.

Then we compared the difference between cardinal and ordinal numbers.

Students made predictions about the height in unit cubes, weight in kg and circumference in cm. LOTS of different kinds of MEASUREMENT!!
We also wrote notes about pumpkins, please don't forget to ask your child about their pumpkin math! We will continue with some pumpkin problem solving this week!
